We have practiced Aboriginal law for 10 years, and we are very familiar with First Nations governance, legislation and policy development along with First Nation land claims including Specific Claims tribunal.
Eliza Montour started her career working with Chiefs of Ontario taking care of legislation and policy issues that would impact all First Nations.
Leading provincial based working groups, Eliza helped find solutions to ensure First Nations autonomy and diversity was protected from one size fits all approaches.
At the Union of Ontario Indians, Eliza focused on Land Claims under the Specific Claims policy. She also made a presentation to the Standing Committee on the development of the Specific Claims Tribunal Act. As the Political Advisor to Chief Ava Hill, Six Nations Elected Counsel, Eliza was counsel for Six Nations for the land mark case of Hamilton Health Services v. CAS, D.H. et al.
